A Message from the Principal

I am honored to serve our students, families, staff and community as the principal at Jefferson Elementary. I am dedicated to excellence in academics as well as creating a safe learning environment where all staff and students feel a sense of belonging.

I have served at Jefferson Elementary since 2013. Prior to my time at Jefferson I was a special education teacher in Waukee Community Schools and a middle school language arts and special education teacher at Adel-DeSoto Minburn. I received my bachelor's degree from UNI, a Master’s in Special Education from Iowa State University, and my administration degree from Viterbo University.

I am originally from central Iowa but have lived in the Mason City School district since starting at Jefferson in 2013. I have three sons who are Mason City graduates. I feel so fortunate to have raised my sons in this community and district. They have had so many opportunities to excel in anything they desire. I am so excited to work with the community, students, families, and staff to prepare our students to be successful learners.
